Family First is truly a “family-oriented” business. It is comprised of two sisters and their daughters bringing with them over 35 years of combined experience in the home care and health care industries. The company philosophy revolves around family, yours and ours.

Elaine has experience in the nursing home industry as she assisted her husband with his family-owned facility for many years. She was an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Primary Instructor for the state and worked in the field for many years on an ambulance. She advanced her career by working as an Emergency Room Technician, CPR Instructor, hazard material technician, scuba diver and attended ISU and VU. Elaine recognizes the importance of home health care after own battle with cancer. She feels she was blessed with the support of her family and friends throughout this difficult time. She has moved to Brazil from Parke County and cherishes her time with family, friends, work and the possibilities of each new day.

Harriet, a life-long resident of Parke County, is both knowledgeable and sympathetic as she has experienced both sides. She was the primary caregiver to her father-in-law for over 10 years. She has cared for other family members, worked privately as a caregiver and has over two and a half years experience with an agency. While there, she cared for clients as well as holding the role of Client/Caregiver Coordinator. She’s experienced in the hiring and training of caregivers and in assessing client’s needs. She and her husband, Don raised two children, Holly and Brent. Holly operates Family First with Harriet and Brent works with underprivileged youth. She enjoys spending quality time with their grandchildren.

Amy has worked in an office environment for over a decade and has managerial experience and a varied knowledge of office operations. Prior to that, she spent four years in private care and has cared for her own family members during times of illness. Amy has been brought up in a caring environment with her grandmother owning and her father administrating a nursing home for many years. Amy recently moved to the Brazil area with her husband Jim and their two sons, Steven a junior at Northview High School and Daniel, a graduate of Northview and currently an Airman in the United States Air Force.

Holly, a graduate of Purdue University, brings a wide range of experience to the organization. She has personally cared for her Grandfather, has four years experience as a private caregiver on the east coast and worked for an agency as a caregiver and Client Scheduler for nearly a year. She has previous managerial experience and a background in employment counseling. She currently resides in Brazil with her husband, Michael and two young children, Will and Lauren.
